  8. The information below is provided by Progessive Logic, the
  9. designer of the LogoShow 3-D Screen Saver for Dataproducts.

  11. NOTE: This screen saver works best with a 256-color screen driver.

  14. There is online help that you may access from the configuration dialog 
  15. so this file contains only the information needed to get you started.
  16.  
  17. You use Program Manager to install LogoShow.  From the menu, select
  18. "File" and then "Run".  Next you type "x:INSTALL" replacing x with the
  19. drive the floppy is in (usually A).  If you have downloaded LogoShow from a
  20. BBS or an online service such as Compuserve it will probably be on your
  21. hard drive so you would then also include the name of the directory it is
  22. in.

  24. Below is information on configuring LogoShow for 
  25. Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 users.

  27. For Windows 3.1 users

  29. You must first run Control Panel.  Usually it's in the Main 
  30. group.  Then from the Control Panel you must run Desktop.  
  31. In the Desktop setup dialog you first select LogoShow 
  32. as the current screen saver and then click on the Setup 
  33. button to bring up the LogoShow Configuration Dialog. 
  34. Click on the help button for additional information.

  36. For Windows 95 users

  38. Move your cursor to any clear space on your desktop, 
  39. then click on the right mouse button and choose Properties. 
  40. Click on the Screen Saver tab and choose the Logo Show Screen 
  41. Saver selection from the menu.  Use the Settings to adjust 
  42. the features. Pick Preview to test the screen saver, or OK 
  43. to save the settings.  Click on the help button for 
  44. additional information.

  47. This version of LogoShow uses Microsoft's new WinG fast 
  48. graphics library for Windows to support systems running any 
  49. number of colors from 16 to 16 Million.  The first time you 
  50. run a WinG application at any given screen resolution it will 
  51. display a box with an strange abstract pattern that it uses 
  52. to test for the fastest way to update the screen on your 
  53. system.  You should only see it the first time you run the 
  54. program at that resolution.
  55.  
  56. If LogoShow seems to run for a few seconds and then quit without
  57. displaying an image there is a problem with the WinG installation.
  58. All of the WinG files MUST be in the SYSTEM directory to run
  59. correctly and there can be no extra copies in other directories.
  60. If you are running it on a networked system WinG MUST be installed
  61. into the server's SYSTEM directory.  This is a limitation of the
  62. WinG library which I unfortunately have no control over.
  63.  
  64. If you should receive an error message stating that CTL3D or CTL3DV2 has
  65. been installed incorrectly it only means that there is more than one copy
  66. of the file CTL3DV2.DLL on your system.  All you have to do to correct
  67. the problem is to delete all but one copy.  If there is a copy in the
  68. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ directory, that is the one you should keep.  It should
  69. be safe for you to delete all other copies.  If there is not a copy in
  70. that directory there should be one in the \WINDOWS\ directory.

  72. CAUTION: CTL3D.DLL and CTL3DV2.DLL should not be considered copies of the
  73.          same file.  If you have both of these files on your system you
  74.          should be careful to keep one copy of each.
